Final result are almost complete. There are still a few auction items that are being wrapped up. The evening was so incredible, thanks to all of you Worcester people with serious party pants. There were so many new faces in the darkness, on a Sunday! Many of you asked about the Sunday night arrangement. We are doing everything we can to make Cirque happen on a Saturday next year. It will still be a week before Halloween, but hopefully we can fulfill your request to make it happen on a Saturday!

Thank you to all who came, you looked incredible. Thank you to all the photographers, Amy DeMar, Louie Depres, Mike Hendrickson, Jim Collins, Donna Dufault,
and to those guests who shared their photos with all of us.

There are more Cirque Du Noir images via flickr. Please share your images in the group pool!

Shhh, there are some exciting plans in the works for Cirque Du Noir, so stay tuned...

Cirque Du Noir

Cirque Du Noir II will be held at Bocado on October 25th! A celebration of art and music to benefit the Worcester County Food Bank. Experience artists creating works in an art fusion. This event was so successful last year that we are expanding it this year. Try YOUR hand at contributing to a collectable piece. All proceeds from the art auction go directly to the WCFB.

A little Cirque inspiration below, as it is all black attire. Create a costume or come dressed in all black, you will enjoy an evening like no other here in Worcester! People are still talking about last year's event, so I am so happy planning for this year is getting underway. Website and ticket updates coming soon. Find out more on FB. Bocado is the perfect venue. Last year was amazing and this year will top it!

Lennie Peterson on PKN Daily!

{lennie peterson via PKN Daily and PKN Worcester}

One of our Pecha Kucha Worcester #2 speakers, Lennie Peterson has been featured on PKN Daily! Quite an honor. Lennie's recent collaborative efforts with Kaki King evolved into Kaki King "The Exhibition", using the guitar she played recently in the David Letterman spotlight.

"He thought it would be interesting to see what would happen if I put paint on the tips of my fingers and then played the song. He thought that everything I am doing was very choreographed and methodical, and wondered what it would look like — where my fingers would travel. That was really the start. " {from afterellen}

The blue Ovation guitar, distictively caressed with pink paint while Kaki played "Pink Noise" was auctioned off to support VH1 Save the Music. Cindy Woerhle is also talking about it over on our Pecha Kucha Worcester Blog. This article from the "pressroom" on Lennie's site tells about the details of the collaboration.

Holy linkage! I will stop now. Pretty excited I am though... to hear him speak at the next PKN Worcester. If you were there, click the link for a great slide show of the event at Bocado, or click here for the Pecha Kucha Worcester flickr group.

Prelude to the Red Room

“Red is the color of passion and desire- that is the crux of this project – my passion and desire to create beautiful images.” - Scott Erb

This is a taste of The Red Room Project, Scott Erb's follow up project to the 20 Artists of Worcester. Recently posted were new images, that are just completely stunning...so I could not resist the share, a prelude to an in depth post on the photographer Scott Erb and the subjects, as they push the boundaries and creative limits of the red room. Enjoy.

Today is St.Patrick's Day of celebration and recognition of Irish roots. I woke this morning to a text from my mother, wishing me a happy St. Patty's Day. She does not know how to text. A chuckle, as I remember the card in my purse that I failed to mail to my parents. Darn. One day I will be on time. For now, the weather is nice this week and makes you feel hopeful for spring. Today I have warm thoughts of my Irish roots and Irish music in my head.

Spotlight on Scott Boilard

The art of Scott Boilard has impressed me immensely, since I first saw it several years ago at his solo show at the Bijou Gallery, here in Worcester, Massachusetts. His style is fantastic abstract expressionism. After reading his artist statement, I am blown away at his depth of thought and contemplation when it comes to his art. Each piece is as stunning as the next. The light, the details, the incredible imagination hit you like a tidal wave. With a mind and foresight of an artist completely loyal to his style, Scott constantly surprises and innovates with his spontaneous and subconscious work.

Scott was invited to Pushkin, Russia in 2005 for an artist exchange and representative of Worcester, Massachusetts, as a sister city. He has supported and participated in local art throughout his career. He is an original participant of stART on the Street and participated in our first Cirque du Noir 2008 fundraiser for the Worcester County Food Bank. As a friend and a colleague, I am incredibly fortunate to be inspired by his art on a daily basis. Scott brings his sketch books everywhere and occasionally I devour this more than his painting. His preliminary sketches and brainstorming side notes are worth a king's ransom.

Scott Boilard was recently featured in the 20 Artists of Worcester the concept of Scott Erb of Erb Photography. Portraits taken by Erb of each of the artist in their studio space were showcased, expertly.
