Final result are almost complete. There are still a few auction items that are being wrapped up. The evening was so incredible, thanks to all of you Worcester people with serious party pants. There were so many new faces in the darkness, on a Sunday! Many of you asked about the Sunday night arrangement. We are doing everything we can to make Cirque happen on a Saturday next year. It will still be a week before Halloween, but hopefully we can fulfill your request to make it happen on a Saturday!

Thank you to all who came, you looked incredible. Thank you to all the photographers, Amy DeMar, Louie Depres, Mike Hendrickson, Jim Collins, Donna Dufault,
and to those guests who shared their photos with all of us.

There are more Cirque Du Noir images via flickr. Please share your images in the group pool!

Shhh, there are some exciting plans in the works for Cirque Du Noir, so stay tuned...

Aesthetic Heaven!

{image via 100 Layer Cake, original sources are linked there}

If you haven't discovered 100 Layer Cake and are planning a fete of any kind, or if you are looking strictly for color inspiration...watch this blog. It is genious! I love that it is purely organic, modern and daring...the coordinated inspiration boards of unexpected and bold combinations give me amazing validity that the cookie cutter wedding may get overlooked for more unique and personal presentations.

I know from experience that watching the same kind of styles and "rules" followed are slowly evolving into more creative weddings. If you have ever been to a wedding where some unexpected things are happening, I think it raises the bar on creativity for your own inspiration. I have been to many weddings that were incredibly conforming. It is a little sad to me, as I know what kind of planning goes into each wedding, no matter how big or small. It is an incredibly special and memorable day. There are a few blogs out there to watch, that capture the little creative forces that make a wedding UNFORGETABLE, as they should be. The little personal touches, and unexpected things make a huge difference.

Thank you 100 Layer Cake for bringing it... your blog kicks aesthetic to a new level!

Invitation Inspiration

{designs by michelle may for checkerboard and photographed by adoniram sides}

For over 10 years I have been designing invitations for Checkerboard, here in the Worcester area. If you are planning an event, no matter how big or small, and would like some rocking invitations or announcements, I can help you out. No matter what your budget is, we can find the perfect choice for your event. I will work with you from concept to completion if you would like something completely custom, or we can choose something simple and elegant and have it to you within a few business days. We use the finest heavy weight papers and have award winning design and typography.

Working with some pretty outstanding designers, many of which have been featured here (links to their personal art over on the right) in itself is inspirational. I love to go to work everyday and create with paper and imagination. Some of my designs have been chosen by personalities including The Rolling Stones, David Baldacci, Princess Firyal of Jordan and Lionel Pincus, Queen Rania of Jordan, Robert Cray, and President Clinton.

If you are thinking of printing invitations yourself, for the same price that you may spend on papers and inks and trying to design your own, I can find a you a better solution that will save you time and effort...and will not go over your budget.
I look forward to creating amazing invitations every day, and I would love to make them for you and create excitement for every guest you invite to your event!
