Three Fun Ladies

{image via ffffound}

OK, I know I am straying from the normal posting flavor here, but I have had this image saved for a while and today's sunshine and feelings of springtime emerging in NE, prompted me to kick it up a notch, or six! Far from spring, I just love the free spirited ladies. Makes me think of some women I know who are just as kooky. This is a scarf I could send to a few people who would actually sport it at the right party. See the rose tattoo?

Inspired by black and white for obvious reasons, this weekend should be full of hallowed moments of festivities. I learned something today, about Samhain, the Celtic root of Halloween. It's the celebration of summer's end and the new year, a Celtic festival of the harvest and of the dead.

Today started out with a strange vibe, as sometimes I can feel things a little before they happen. I woke with memories of a far off dream and soon after imagery of spilled milk. When my little Soleil did spill her milk, I knew the day would be interesting and it was. It came full circle touching down many times throughout the day. My mother used to get freaked out when I was a kid, saying things before they happened. Oh the thin lines between days. Let's see if it continues throughout the weekend!

Ride the Line

For those of you that have never heard of LINE RIDER and think this sample looks like it just may be for kids, I suggest you give it a go. Originally developed by by Boštjan Čadež, a Slovenian university student, this program is based on the laws of physics. It was featured in Time Magazine and Yahoo, and was 2006 Internet Best Toy. Once it hit the web on deviant art, it became a an instant hit.

It is highly addictive, I may add.

voy tarde

When I was a kid, one of my fears was being late. Part of it was that I was so frantically shy that if I were late, I knew all eyes would be on me, the attention of the teacher would turn to me, and well I would come close to passing out. Ballet class was the worst. When it was my Dad's turn to carpool, he drove so slow, all the girls looking at me in the car with eye reflecting the curses they threw my way, knowing the wrath we would get for walking in after barre had begun.

These days and many years later, I feel like I am racing the clock ALL the time. I wish the world would slow down for me, and for all of us. Living in NE, no doubt increases the pressure of doing a million things a day, efficiently and successfully. Life should be a tea party most of the time.
