Andreea found some paradise in this small boutique hotel, called The Beach House in Isla Verde on the water. Recently renovated, it is nestled amidst bustling resorts and only fifteen minutes from Old San Juan. Featuring a highly rated walk off the beach watering hole, Cafe La Page. We are about to give it some business.
The place has some mixed reviews, but looks to be exactly what we are looking for. Neither of us are the resort-y types. We prefer the quintessential "bohemian" escapes, with good cocktails, music and great camera candy. We can just sleep on the beach and listen to the waves hit the shore. It 's been done before.
From rooftops in Maine to the deep woods of Vermont, Puerto Rico here we come...let's hope you've got what it takes! Muy bien!
Our hotel's location was right on the beach and the whole back was open air with rattan couches and cool recycled wood tables. Flowing white curtains were everywhere capturing the humid but cool Caribbean breeze. Shell accents and tropical umbrellas were seen as we walked along the Isla Verde shores.
